This fabulous, multi-race / multi-distance, road race event is held every year in the stunning grounds and deer park of Raby Castle, near Staindrop in County Durham.
All three distances – a 2.5 km fun run, principally for juniors, 5.2 km and the full 10km – run on private roads within the 200-acre estate, free from traffic. You are more likely to see the resident deer herd than a vehicle, in fact!
There is separate free parking for all participants, and free entry to the deer park for each runner and up to two supporters.
The races have staggered starts during the morning, allowing more room on the roads and for adults to accompany youngsters on the fun run if they want to do both.
Runners and supporters are welcome to bring along a picnic to enjoy in the deer park after their race, enjoy a discount in the café and on castle entrance, and can visit the Plotters’ Forest and other facilities in the castle parkland (additional costs may apply).
Last year’s races were really enjoyable for all involved – great weather, great route, good competition and great facilities in a scenic and safe location.
Though ‘entries on the day’ may be available, we recommend securing your places now in case we sell out.
Entry on the day will carry an additional cost, depending on race distance.

· No cut-off times; all races are inclusive, regardless of your pace. (In 2023, the 10km winner was back in 35 minutes. Our tail runner took 81 minutes. There is no reason to be embarrassed or feel too slow (or too fast).)
